Torah
1. Devarim (Deuteronomy) 30:3–5
“Then Hashem your God will restore your fortunes and have
compassion on you, and will return and gather you from all the nations where
Hashem your God has scattered you. Even if your outcasts are at the ends of the
heavens, from there Hashem your God will gather you, and from there He will
bring you. Hashem your God will bring you to the land that your fathers
possessed, and you shall possess it; and He will do you good and multiply you
more than your fathers.”
🔹 This is the clearest
Torah promise of Kibbutz Galuyot, linking return to teshuvah and divine
compassion.
2. Devarim 4:27–31
Hashem will scatter you among the nations... but from
there you will seek Hashem your God... in your distress you will return... He
will not forsake you nor destroy you.
🔹 An early conditional
prophecy of exile and return.
3. Bamidbar (Numbers) 24:17–19 (Bilaam’s prophecy)
A star shall go forth from Jacob... and dominion shall
come from Israel.
🔹 While not explicit,
this is interpreted by Chazal as referring to Messianic redemption, which
includes Kibbutz Galuyot.
Nevi’im
4. Yeshayahu (Isaiah) 11:11–12
On that day Hashem will extend His hand again to recover
the remnant of His people... He will raise a banner for the nations and gather
the dispersed of Israel, and the scattered of Judah He will assemble from the
four corners of the earth.
🔹 A cornerstone verse
— cited in modern Israeli liturgy.
5. Yeshayahu 27:12–13
You shall be gathered one by one... and those lost in
Assyria and those driven out to Egypt shall come and worship Hashem in
Jerusalem.
6. Yeshayahu 43:5–6
Fear not, for I am with you; I will bring your children
from the east and gather you from the west.
7. Yirmiyahu (Jeremiah) 16:14–15
No longer will it be said “As Hashem lives who brought up
Israel from Egypt,” but “As Hashem lives who brought up Israel from the land of
the north.”
🔹 The return from
exile will surpass the Exodus in greatness.
8. Yirmiyahu 23:3–8
I will gather the remnant of My flock from all the
countries... and bring them back to their fold.
9. Yechezkel (Ezekiel) 11:17
I will gather you from the nations and give you the land
of Israel.
10. Yechezkel 20:34, 41–42
I will bring you out from the peoples and gather you from
the countries.
11. Yechezkel 36:24
I will take you from among the nations and gather you out
of all countries, and bring you into your own land.
12. Yechezkel 37:21–22 (Two sticks prophecy)
I will take the children of Israel from among the
nations... and bring them into their land.
13. Amos 9:14–15
I will restore the fortunes of My people Israel... they
shall be planted upon their land, never again to be uprooted.
14. Micha 2:12
I will surely gather all of you, O Jacob; I will surely
collect the remnant of Israel.
15. Zephaniah 3:19–20
At that time I will bring you back, I will gather you,
for I will make you a name and a praise.
16. Zechariah 8:7–8
I will save My people from east and west and bring them
to dwell in Jerusalem.
Ketuvim
17. Tehillim (Psalms) 106:47
Save us, Hashem our God, and gather us from among the
nations, to give thanks to Your holy name.
18. Tehillim 147:2
Hashem builds Jerusalem; He gathers the dispersed of
Israel.
