How to contact us: a reminder

Do you have a religious question?

Rabbi Kenigsberg (058-462-4762) is the rabbi of Beit Knesset Hanassi. As such, he is the sole and appropriate person to whom you should address all questions relating to Jewish law, synagogue ritual and local custom and practice.

In the event of death

The shul does not have a chevra kadisha (burial society) and cannot arrange funerals. In the event of a shul member or anyone connected with a shul member, contact Jeremy Phillips on 053-845-5367 and he will send out a notice to all the shul members. If you have details of the day and time of the funeral, the address for the shiva, davening and visiting times and the names of the mourners, he will send those out too.

Shiva committee

If you are arranging a shiva and need a food platter when the mourners return from the funeral, please contact Gitta Neufeld (058-795-9689) or Avelyn Hass (054-447-2684). We also have a Shiva Support WhatsApp group to help make sure there is a minyan when required: contact Eli Friedwald, Howie Rosman and Ronny Wachtel (above) or Jeremy Phillips on 053-845-5367.

Gabbaim

If you have any questions or requests regarding our services, including requests for aliyot and yahrzeits, email our team of gabbaim (Aaron Amit, Eli Friedwald, Howie Rosman and Ronny Wachtel) at bkhgabbai@gmail.com

Welfare

To arrange visits for the elderly, the infirm and the unwell, contact Menachem Marcus (058-686-8151). If you would like to join our list of volunteers to make occasional house calls, contact Jeremy Phillips on 053-845-5367.

The President

If you want to get hold of the President, you can call Jeremy Phillips on 053-845-5367 or email him at bkhpresident1@gmail.com  (this is where most complaints are usually addressed).

General messages

For all other messages, including news of mazal tovs and happy events, and all general queries, use bkhanassi@gmail.com

We don’t have a shul office, but we do have an old-fashioned telephone, 02-372-4045. This gives you a menu of options that cover practically everything you can think of. If you have to leave a recorded message, please speak slowly and clearly and try to speak from a location that is fairly peaceful, or the message you leave may not sound quite the same as the message we hear.

Our menu options are currently as follows:

1: The President

2: To make a credit card payment

3: To inquire about hiring the hall

4: The Treasurer

5: To sponsor Kiddush or Se'udah Shelishit

6: Rabbi Kenigsberg

7: The Gabbaim
